here are some of my sketches for this painting, drawn left-handed and upside down, and some quick color studies.
The completed painting, "Two Hearts."
Acrylic on canvas, 48" x 60", black wood "floater" frame included. SOLD
Transferring the sketch to the canvas, using non-dominant hand, and drawing upside down. Next, I'll flip the canvas upright.
Re-thinking the color. I took out the turquoise.
The painitng begins - two layers of paint, the top layer scratched off to create all the detail (scraffito).
Painting continues on a different day. Aftter seeing the paint colors on canvas, the turqoise is put back in, but in small amounts. I am liking it.
